KillGorack 2023-07-09 19:45:40 The first law of thermodynamics states that the change in internal energy of a system (ΔU) is equal to the heat added to the system (Q) minus the work done by the system (W): ΔU = Q - W In an adiabatic process, no heat enters or leaves the system, so Q is 0. If the system is doing work on its surroundings, the work done by the system is negative. So in this case, the work done by the system is -20 J (since the system is doing work, not having work done on it).
